Learning to Breathe

Learning to Breathe Posted on February 13, 2015

I am Sonhadora, 34 years old, born and raised in the Philippines. At 32, I decided to quit my job, sell everything I have and travel halfway across the world. It lasted for 14 months and I found my way back home. What do I know about life? A little and a lot. I’ve certainly had my fair share of dreams coming true, frustrations and hitting rock bottom, broken hearts and a lot of unexpected detours. Follow my blog and join me in this once in a lifetime adventure and I will make it worth your while.

♫♫Hello, good morning, how you do? What makes your rising sun so new?♫♫

This song was made famous by the Switchfoot band and has been one of my all-time favorite songs because of its lyrics, melody, and alternative vibe.

What makes this song special? For me, it signifies new beginnings, new love, new day. Finding inspiration, strength and courage to start all over again after hitting rock bottom. It won’t be easy but once you choose to live another day with a new perspective, and simply accept that challenges are part of this so-called life, then it would be like letting go of that anchor and unloading all unnecessary baggage that have been dragging you for awhile, making life easier to deal with.

More so, people around you can merely give advice but in the end, only you can help yourself. Truthfully, it all starts with the right mindset and attitude to pick yourself up and allowing yourself to be transformed – to be better, wiser and stronger after overcoming and learning from those challenges.

Choose to fight than to give up, to hope that everything will pass and you’ll be just fine, and to believe that there will be better days. Most importantly, choose to live, to show kindness, to empathize, and to love. Continue believing that you were born with a purpose, born to be great and do great things. Don’t leave this world an average person; leave with pride and contentment knowing that your existence made a difference in this world.

Learn to breathe. Live deeply. Love passionately.
