CONSISTENCY: The Common Denominator of ALL Successful Bloggers

CONSISTENCY: The Common Denominator of ALL Successful Bloggers Posted on November 14, 2017

I am Sonhadora, 34 years old, born and raised in the Philippines. At 32, I decided to quit my job, sell everything I have and travel halfway across the world. It lasted for 14 months and I found my way back home. What do I know about life? A little and a lot. I’ve certainly had my fair share of dreams coming true, frustrations and hitting rock bottom, broken hearts and a lot of unexpected detours. Follow my blog and join me in this once in a lifetime adventure and I will make it worth your while.

consistency

Reading through several blogs and taking note of a few important blog advice, you’d probably notice that ALL successful bloggers have one thing in common:

CONSISTENCY.

They are consistent in publishing quality content on a regular basis.

Consistent with their branding. The colors they use, the fonts, the entire look.

Consistent with their message and writing style.

Consistent with interacting with their audience and fellow bloggers in their chosen niche.

So you see, to be successful in blogging, you have to be CONSISTENT.

You cannot just wing it. You cannot write ONLY when you feel like it.

You have to treat your blog like your day job. You show up every single day and do your damn best.

You can’t expect to see significant results when you don’t put in the work.

It ain’t easy but once you get the hang of it, it’s going to be a work that you will love doing.

Where or how do you even begin?

  • Create a blog posts publishing schedule that you will strictly follow. It could be 3x a week, once a week, once a month. It all depends on your capability and how much hours you can put in. The important thing is, you publish blog posts on your scheduled days.
  • Determine your brand style by choosing the right colors and fonts that best suit your blog. Once you’ve developed a following, your audience can easily identify your blog just by looking at the style and colors.
  • Be consistent with what you write about. It is true that you can write about anything under the sun but if you want to attract a certain audience, you have to be clear with what you stand for. Are you writing about travels, or personal finance, or parenting? Choose one and stick with it.
  • Interact with fellow bloggers and audience in your target niche because they can give you awesome feedback.
Why am I telling you this? Because I, myself, am struggling with CONSISTENCY.

It has been a month since I last wrote a post. I may have a valid reason but that is still an excuse for not being consistent with this blog. I haven’t achieved the monthly goals I’ve set ever since I launched this blog. And mainly because I lack consistency.

It’s hard, I feel you, especially having a day job and an online business that I run together with this blog. But one thing I got from one of the successful bloggers that I follow is to NEVER GIVE UP.

You could lose some sleep, or your social life, but in the end, it will be definitely worth it. Keep on writing and doing all the hard work. If you can, avoid procrastinating and let go of any distractions [i.e. social media] that keep you from working on your blog.

CONSISTENCY is what separates the successful bloggers from all other bloggers.

They embrace the birth pains of their blogs and see it through until they earn their first decent check. And from that point forward, it’s going to be like a snowball effect.

You will see results once you’ve built momentum. And how can you build momentum? Only with CONSISTENCY.

Pin for later!
